Friskis&Svettis is a non-profit-making association, aiming to spread the Friskis&Svettis idea about pleasure filled training and to try to get as many as possible to increase their well-being through activity and training. Non-profit means that no one is making money on Friskis&Svettis, but all profit goes back into the association, to the benefit of the members. This is what Friskis&Svettis organisation looks like:

Organisation: Friskis&Svettis consists of over 147 sport associations, located mainly in Sweden. Friskis&Svettis is also available in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, France, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Luxemburg and the UK.

Association: Every Friskis&Svettis association is self-governed and has its own regulations and its own committee, elected by the members. The association has its own economic entity with a responsibility for its own operation and economy. The range of exercising possibilities available to the members varies according to each association’s local terms. Despite this difference, it is still the same system of high quality exercise that is available to each member. Jympa is available at each organisation but most often, other forms of exercise are also on offer, such as weight training in the gym, spinning and out-door activities.

Member: As a member you have the chance to vote and influence what's happening in your association. You will become a member automatically when you get your sport-card.

Friskis&Svettis Riks: All associations are gathered in a national organisation called Friskis&Svettis Riks (=The Friskis&Svettis National Council). It consists of a secretariat located in Stockholm, with responsibility for communication and service to the member associations, education, as well as promoting and safeguarding the brand “Friskis&Svettis“.

F&S Årsstämma: This is the highest decision-making institution of Friskis&Svettis. The F&S Årsstämma (=The F&S Annual General Meeting) takes place every spring. Then delegates from all the different associations are invited and decide what will happen during the following year within Friskis&Svettis, make guidelines and discuss the future, development etc.

Committee: During the F&S Årsstämma the committee of the Friskis&Svettis Riks is elected by the delegates from the associations. This group consists of ten persons and they make sure that the different decisions made during the F&S Årsstämma are executed. They also run the basic activity between these meetings.

Friskis&Svettis is a non-profit association made for its sporting members. More than 12.500 pro-bono functionaries, trainers, instructors, hosts and board members are involved in the organisation in their spare time. You influence and effect how Friskis&Svettis should be.
