Friskis training - this is how it works
Friskis operates and develops their own training for all activities, something we have done since the start. Anyone who becomes a Friskis trainer or instructor goes through our training courses. Thousands of people have expanded their knowledge of physical exercise, leadership and become more engaged within Friskis. Could you be next?
The way to become an instructor or trainer
To become an instructor or trainer you start with becoming recruited by one of the Friskis associations. After that it´s time for the first course ('Ettan' in Swedish), a four days long course with focus on physiology and how to coach physical exercise. In this course you also learn about Friskis' values and view on physical training.
Warning for existential and physical soreness
After the first course it´s time for the second course ('Tvåan' in Swedish), where focus is on the type of exercise you will teach. You will get a lot of feedback on your technique and you will develope in leadership and guidance.
Many of the courses are being held at a conference center or boarding-school, which means intense bonding and exchange of knowledge during these days. So apart from your growing knowledge base you will also grow as a human being!
You shape the Friskis workouts
As a Friskis instructor your personality is always a part of your voluntary work. Almost all our group activities is just a framework that the instructors fill with their choice of music, movements and ideas.
By building knowledge about physical exercise and leadership from scratch, instead of teaching a ready workout, the instructor´s engagement will grow to the maximum. How would you shape your class?
Licensing after the course
After the second course it´s time for the licensing where your new knowledges will be tested. This licensing is to make sure we keep the experience of each type of workout together and to ensure the quality in our classes. When you have got your license you are ready to start teaching!
150 courses a year
All Friskis trainings are created and held by Friskis&Svettis Riks, the head association. That way we know all instructors and trainers get the same solid knowledge base. During one year we hold around 150 different trainings, inspiration days, advanced courses and conventions with around 6000 instructors, trainers and hosts in total!
